Biography: My name is Natalie McDonald, but most everyone calls me Nat or Nattie. I am entering my sixth year at Hogwarts, and play Chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. I have an older sister, Katie, and live with my mum and dad in Birmingham . When I am away at school they tell their friends and our family that I am still going to Stoodley Knowle in Devon .
You see, I am a Muggle-born.
This had made life difficult for me. Not so much the way I am treated, but the secrets I have to keep from my parents. I never told them what happened the night Dumbledore was killed, or anything about He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Not when he killed that poor Hufflepuff, or when Harry Potter defeated him almost a year ago. It’s not that I am afraid they would pull me out. It’s more for their protection…at least that is what I tell myself. Luckily, I have my friends who understand what my family can’t.
Dennis Creevey and Caley Jones are my fellow Sixth years, and two of my closest friends. Dennis is a Muggleborn as well. He and his brother, Colin, have given me lots of advice in dealing with Muggle parents.
Caley shares a dorm with me. She keeps me from hexing Ann-Marie, is a good Chaser (she practices with me sometime), gets witch advice (stuff I can’t ask mum or Kat)from her sister, Megan , and has been known to be my lookout when I play the occasional prank.
I am also best friends with a Pure-Blood Slytherin. How did this unlikely friendship start? Malcolm saved me from two goons from his own house. It was our fourth year. (I shudder to think what might have happened if he had not shown up.) He won’t admit it, but I have a feeling he had something to do with no one bothering me again...I just wish I knew what was truly going on with him.
